Hardwood Club Banquet Brochure
The 43rd annual Syracuse University Men's Basketball Hardwood Banquet, sponsored by TK99, will be held on Monday, March 10 at the OnCenter in Syracuse. Tickets are $85 per person and $800 per table of 10.
Proceeds benefit the Conrad McRae Endowed Men's Basketball Scholarship, the Edson Children John Hancock Freedom 529 College Savings Plan, and the men's basketball program.
The Vic Hanson Medal of Excellence will be awarded to long-time SU administrator Rob Edson, who passed away last fall. The honor is given to an individual or individuals who have ties to the men's basketball program and have made outstanding contributions to college basketball.
Edson, a 1990 graduate of Syracuse University, started a 20-year tenure of employment at SU as an intern. During his career, he worked in virtually all areas of athletic administration including compliance, facilities and finance and team services. His last position at SU was senior associate athletics director of administration and chief financial officer. He was very involved with the men's basketball program.
In 2011, Onondaga Community College hired Edson as athletics director. He is survived by his wife, Sue, the assistant athletics director for athletic communications at Syracuse, and his children, Thomas and Tracey.
The Hardwood Banquet is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception that includes a silent auction featuring unique sports memorabilia, a player autograph session and an opportunity to bid on having players sit at your table. Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m.
To reserve seats for the Hardwood Banquet, contact the Orange Club by phone (315-443-1419 or 1-877-CLUB4U), or by registering on-line at: http://invite.syr.edu/HardwoodBanquet. The reservation deadline is February 28.
