Pollitt Wins 110m Hurdles at ECAC/IC4A Championships

PRINCETON, N.J.—Donald Pollitt's 110-meter hurdle title highlighted a solid showing by the Syracuse track and field team at the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend. This is Pollitt's second championship title of the outdoor season after winning the event at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
The Orange had two other competitors in the 110-meter hurdle final with Amadou Gueye finishing third overall (14.04) and Freddie Crittenden taking fifth place (14.24). Pollitt ran the finals with his best time of the weekend, finishing in 13.93 seconds.
After finishing with the fastest time overall in the preliminary heats, Shaina Harrison took third place in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 11.82 seconds. Her 11.57 second showing during the semifinal heat was the fastest finish of her career.
Kevyn Hoyos performed well in the men's 10,000-meter run, finishing third overall in 30:07.08 while Joseph Kush finished fourth in the 1,500-meter finals in 3:50.50.
Rebecca Robinson finished in seventh place in the 200-meter finals, finishing in 24.20 seconds. Reggie Morton finished in eighth place in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.14 meters.
The team takes this weekend off before the NCAA East Preliminary races, which are scheduled for May 29-31 in Jacksonville, Fla. The qualifiers are set to be announced on Thursday, May 22.
