
Track Places Nine on All-ACC Academic Squad

Nine members of the Syracuse track and field teams were honored for their success both in the classroom and in competition, earning spots on the All-ACC Academic Team this spring.
Ben Gabelman (computer science), Charles Guerrera (mechanical engineering), Elijah Mallard (creative writing) and Drew Zundell (broadcast and digital journalism) represented the men's team, while Emeline Clark (finance), Jayden Harberts (psychology), Carmen Luisi (health and exercise science), Peyton Rollins (marketing management) and Indie Wallace-Persaud (supply chain management) were honored from the women's roster.
In order to be considered for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athletes must be an undergraduate, have been enrolled at the institution for one year, maintain a cumulative GPA over 3.0, have above a 3.0 in each of the last-two semesters, and meet the league's competition requirement for consideration – which includes having competed at either the ACC or NCAA Championships. Student-athletes who have earned their undergraduate degree and were pursuing a master's degree this season are eligible for the ACC's graduate scholar-athlete award, which will be announced in July. The ACC honor roll, which honors student-athletes for academic success regardless of on-field competition, will also be announced in July.
