Forward Jerami Grant was selected 39th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the June 26 NBA Draft conducted at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Grant was the second Syracuse played taken in the draft, joining Tyler Ennis, a first-round pick of the Phoenix Suns.
Grant joins former Syracuse teammate Michael Carter-Williams in Philadelphia. Carter-Williams was the NBA Rookie of the Year after being taken in the first round of the 2013 draft by the 76ers.
Grant played two seasons at Syracuse before deciding to turn professional. As a sophomore he averaged 12.1 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game. He saw action in 32 contests and was with the first string in 20 of those outings.
