Former Orange continue to fight for NBA roster spots
Syracuse basketball alums Jerami Grant, Donte Greene and Arinze Onuaku each thrived for their respective teams in the NBA Orlando Summer League the last two days. Grant recorded his second and third double-figure scoring games for Philadelphia, while Greene and Onuaku both enjoyed their best summer league performances yet for Brooklyn and Indiana, repectively.
On Tuesday night Grant, the 76ers second-round draft choice, assisted in the 92-71 victory against Houston with 12 points, five rebounds and a steal. The next night, Grant and the 76ers defeated Donte Greene and the Brooklyn Nets, 92-86, with another 12-point, five-rebound game.
Greene made his first summer-league start in the loss and had 17 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Greene also tallied seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Earlier on Wednesday, Onuaku tallied 10 points, five rebounds and two steals to help Indiana defeat Oklahoma City, 94-71. He converted 5-of-7 from the field.
On Thursday, the Orlando Summer League comes to a close with three games scheduled. Indiana plays Miami at 3 p.m., Boston takes on Orlando at 5 p.m. and Memphis meets Houston at 7 p.m. Following tonights contests a championship bracket will be released for Championship Day on Friday, July 11.
