Placekicker Ross Krautman will not return to the football field for the Orange due to continued hip pain following his surgical procedure. Krautman has been medically disqualified from further physical participation in football and/or any other contact sport at Syracuse University due to lingering pain and discomfort from his hip-related injury.
Krautman, a three-year letterwinner, closes his career ranked in the top five on three Syracuse career record lists, including second in field goal percentage (78.8%; 40-of-63), tied for third in field goals made (49), fourth in PATs made (110), and fifth in scoring (257). In 2010, Krautman tied the Orange single season record with 18 field goals made and in 2012 he hit 43 PATs, which ties for fourth on the single season list. Krautman was a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for three semesters.
