
SU Paired With Cal In 2K Semifinal

SU and California will meet in the semifinals of the 20th annual 2K Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project on Thursday, November 20, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in New York's Madison Square Garden. The other semifinal features Texas vs. Iowa at 7:00 p.m.
Both semifinals will be televised by ESPN2. The third place game (ESPN2/ESPNU) is scheduled for Friday, November 21, at 5:00 p.m. The championship game will follow (ESPN2).
Syracuse and California have met three times previously. The first pairing was in the semifinals of the 2009 2K Classic, a game won by the Orange, 95-73. SU defeated the Golden Bears in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, 66-60, and was the victor when the two programs met in the 2013 Maui Classic, 92-81.
California features first-year head coach Cuonzo Martin. The Golden Bears were 21-14 a season ago and reached the quarterfinals of the NIT.
SU earned its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and finished with a 28-5 overall record, last season. The Orange won 25 straight games to start the season and was ranked first in both national polls for three weeks.
Coach Jim Boeheim, owner of the second most coaching victories in Division I history (948), will guide his alma mater for the 39th season.
Deposits for 2014-15 Men's Basketball season tickets are on sale now for only $125 each, and provide priority seating before the general public on-sale which starts on September 3. Individual game tickets will go on sale in mid-October.
