- The Syracuse field hockey team is one of two teams nationally that's off to a perfect start through the first five weeks.
- In addition to the Orange, only #1 UConn is perfect on the year.Â

- Syracuse is in the top-10 of seven different categories.
- The Orange is third in goals against average (0.87), seventh in goals per game (3.78), eighth in save percentage (.800), seventh in scoring average (3.70), second in scoring margin (2.83), tenth in shutouts per game (0.33) and is one-of-two undefeated teams in the country still.
'Cuse vs. Monmouth
- Syracuse has never lost to Monmouth, winning all three games in the series history by a total score of 20-2.Â
- The eight goals scored by the Orange in each of their last two games against Monmouth are the most scored by the team in a game since an 11-1 victory
over Georgetown (10/14/11).
- In the Orange's most recent meeting with Monmouth, an 8-1 victory on Oct. 6, 2013, junior Liz Sack scored her first career goal. Senior Emma Russell also added a goal and an assist in the game, while senior Jess Jecko made two saves and gave up one goal.
- Russell, Jecko, and fellow senior Alyssa Manley all made their collegiate debuts against Monmouth in 'Cuse's 8-1 victory on Aug. 24, 2012. Russell scored her first career goal in the matchup, while Manley recorded her first career assist. Jecko played the final 2:47 of the game.
'Cuse vs. Cornell
- 'Cuse is 27-2-1 all-time against Cornell, including 2-0 record with Ange Bradley as the head coach.
- The Orange won 21 straight games against Cornell from Sept. 17, 1986 to Oct. 25, 2007.
- Syracuse has outscored Cornell 79-28 in the two teams' 30-game series history.
- In their careers against Cornell, sophomore Laura Hurff has one goal, sophomore Annalena Ulbrich has two goals, junior Serra Degnan has one goal, and senior Emma Russell has one goal and one assist, a game-winner on Oct. 27, 2013, and senior Jess Jecko has nine career saves against Cornell, and has allowed just two goals.
81-Straight Weeks
- The Orange stayed at No. 2 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll, which is the 81st-straight week the program has been represented in the poll.
- 'Cuse received 879 points and 17 first-place votes behind UConn's 886 points and 27Â first-place votes.
- Syracuse plays 9 of the 20-currently ranked teams in the regular season, including six contests against the other ACC opponents (every league team is ranked).
- Syracuse has already defeated then No. 6 Stanford, No. 18 UMass, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 11 Boston College, No. 4 Virginia, and No. 17 Boston University this season.

Seniors Lead Active Players
- Senior Emma Russell is one of the NCAA's top-active players in scoring.
- She ranks second among active players in points (121) and goals (50), behind just Paula Heuser of Albany in both (137 points, 56 goals).
- Russell also is fifth in points per game (1.64).
- Goaltender Jess Jecko is fifth in career goals against average among active players (1.36).
Friday's game against Monmouth is scheduled for 4 p.m., with Sunday's contest slated for 2 p.m. The first-100 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a free Orange wristband.
