SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two top 25 teams collide when No. 16/-- Syracuse hosts No. 4/5 Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 17. Start time at the SU Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is free of charge.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (9-3-1, 2-2-1)
Syracuse is coming off a 3-0 victory against Bowling Green on Tuesday at SU Soccer Stadium. The victory extended the Orange's unbeaten record at home to 6-0-1. Sophomore Julian Buescher recorded three points in Tuesday's match with a first-half assist to junior Ben Polk and a goal in the second half. Buescher ranks fourth in the nation in assists with seven. Polk scored his second game-winning goal of the season in the victory. The junior leads the team in goals this season with six, followed by Buescher with five. The dynamic offensive pair has combined for 33 of the Orange's 84 points this season.
The Orange ranks 10th in the nation in scoring offense (2.23 ppg.), third in total points (84), second in total goals (29) and fifth in total assists (28) in the latest NCAA statistics.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS (10-1-2, 3-1-1)
Clemson is 7-0-1 in its last eight matches after its only loss of the season, a 1-0 setback at No. 2 Notre Dame. The Tigers are fifth in this week's RPI. Clemson ranks first in the country in total goals (31) and total points (92). T.J. Casner leads the way with 13 points and six goals. Oliver Shannon is right behind with 12 points (5g, 2a), while Austen Burnikel (4g, 2a), Kyle Murphy (4g, 2a) and Iman Mafi (3g, 4a) have 10 points each. Goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell has posted five shutouts this season and has a 0.67 goals-against average and a .824 save percentage.
THE SERIES
Saturday's match will be the third meeting between Clemson and Syracuse. Syracuse won both of the previous two meetings by a score of 1-0.
