Orange Hosts Hartford in Final Non-Conference Match

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 16/-- Syracuse plays its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 20 when it hosts Hartford at the SU Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. The game is the Orange's annual Pink Game, which promotes breast cancer awareness.
Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will televise Tuesday's game. Live video will also be available on ESPN3 and Cuse TV on Cuse.com. Subscriptions to Cuse TV are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE (9-4-1)
The Orange moved up one spot to No. 11 in the RPI released on Monday. The top three teams in the RPI are from the ACC, including No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 2 North Carolina and No. 3 Clemson. The Tigers defeated Syracuse, 1-0, on Saturday. It was the sixth one-goal match of the season for the Orange. Syracuse is 3-3 in those contests.
Despite being shutout for the first time this season against Clemson, the Orange continues to rank among the highest-scoring offenses in the nation. Syracuse is seventh in total points (86) and ninth in total goals (29) and assists (28).
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-5-4)
Hartford is 0-2-2 in its last four matches. Both losses in that span were one-goal games. The Hawks enter Tuesday's match with an overall record of 4-5-4. Javoni Simms leads Hartford in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals. He is one of seven different Hawks who have recorded at least one goal this season. David MacKinnon has started all 13 games in goal for Hartford. He has a 1.12 goals-against average and a .673 save percentage.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Hartford will meet for the first time on Tuesday. The Hawks are the third team the Orange will face from the America East Conference. Syracuse is 2-0 against the league this season.

The Orange returns to ACC play on Friday, Oct. 23 when it hosts North Carolina State in its final regular-season home game at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free.
