15-0 Start
- With its 15th win of the season, a 4-2 victory over Princeton on Oct. 18, 2015, the Syracuse field hockey team set the program records for the best start to a season and the longest winning streak.
- The Orange is one of two teams nationally that's off to a perfect start through the first eight weeks of the season, with #2 UConn being the other.
'Cuse vs. Duke
- The Orange have won their only two matchups with Duke in program history.
- Both of 'Cuse's victories over Duke have finished with a score of 2-1, and both have gone to overtime. The first matchup between the schools, on Oct. 11, 2013, went into double overtime, while the second, on Oct. 25, 2014, was settled in the first overtime period.
- In the 2013 game against the Blue Devils, Jess Jecko allowed just one goal and made seven saves for the Orange. In 2014, Jecko made one save and conceded one goal.
- Laura Hurff and Emma Russell each scored for Syracuse in last year's 2-1 victory over Duke.
Win Streak Records
- Syracuse is in elite company with its current 15 game win streak.
- This year's Orange has broken records set in the 2008 season, when Syracuse started 14-0 for what was previously the best start to a season and the longest winning streak in program history.
- The 15-game win streak is the second-longest unbeaten streak, as Syracuse went 16-straight without a loss in 1993 when games could end in a tie.
Saluting the Seniors
- Seniors Jess Jecko, Alyssa Manley and Emma Russell have been a part of the highest four-year winning percentage (.840) in program history, with a record of 68-13.
- The trio's 68 wins are seven short of the program record for most wins in a four-year period, as the Orange went 75-15 from 2008-2011.
- With three NCAA tournament appearances in three seasons, Jecko, Manley and Russell are looking to become only the fifth class in program history to reach the NCAA tournament in every season of their career.
To the Top
- The Orange moved up to No. 1 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll last week, following wins over Monmouth and Cornell three weekends ago.
- The #1 rank is the first for Syracuse since the 2012 season when the team started 12-0.
- Syracuse has played 8 of the 20-currently ranked teams this season, with Saturday serving as the ninth, including six contests against the other ACC opponents (every league team is ranked).
- Syracuse has already defeated then No. 6 Stanford, No. 18 UMass, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 11 Boston College, No. 4 Virginia, No. 17 Boston University, No. 11 Louisville, No. 6 Wake Forest, and No. 19 Princeton this season.
- Syracuse has been ranked every week in the 20-team poll since the preseason poll of the 2008 season, a streak that spans 84 weeks.
