Dwight Freeney now has 112.5 sacks in his professional career
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seven former Syracuse Orange saw the field during Week 7 of the 2015 NFL season. Outside linebacker Dwight Freeney recorded his first sack of the season against Baltimore on Oct. 28 and now has 112.5 in his 14-year pro career.
Here's a quick recap of how Freeney and the rest of the Orange alumni fared during the season's seventh week:
Jay Bromley, New York Giants
- Tallied a personal-best four tackles in New York's win against Dallas on Oct. 25.
- Has played in every game for New York in 2015 and has 16 tackles.
Dwight Freeney, Arizona Cardinals
- Posted two tackles, and his first sack of the season, against Baltimore on Oct. 28.
- Signed with Arizona as a free agent on Oct. 13.
Arthur Jones, Indianapolis Colts
- Placed on injury reserve on Sept. 5 and will miss the 2015 season.
Chandler Jones, New England Patriots
- Made three tackles, including a sack, in New England's victory against the New York Jets on Oct. 25.
- Leads the NFL with 6.5 sacks this season.
Cameron Lynch, St. Louis Rams
- Has played in every game for St. Louis.
- Registered the first tackle of his pro career at Arizona on Oct. 4.
Ryan Nassib, New York Giants
- New York's backup quarterback.
- Has not played in any games in 2015.
Justin Pugh, New York Giants
- Started at left guard in New York's win against Dallas on Oct. 25.
- Has started every game but two in his pro career.
Andrew Tiller, San Francisco 49ers
- Played in his third straight game since being promoted from the practice squad against Seattle on Oct. 22.
- Promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Oct. 10.
Shamarko Thomas, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Has played in all seven games for Pittsburgh in 2015.
- Has four tackles on the season.
Syracuse heads back out on the road for its next two games. First up is a trip to Tallahassee, Fla. on Saturday, Oct. 31 for a noon showdown with No. 17 Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium.
The Orange returns to the Carrier Dome Saturday, Nov. 14 to host Clemson on Stars and Stripes Day, presented by Time Warner Cable. Tickets for the Clemson game are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).
