Kickoff between Orange and Cavaliers set for 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 17
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Syracuse football team resumes Atlantic Coast Conference play on Oct. 17 at Virginia. The contest between the Orange and Cavaliers will begin at 3:30 p.m. from Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, the ACC announced on Monday, Oct. 5. The game will be televised on RSN.
Syracuse and Virginia have split the four previous meetings between the schools. The Orange captured the first two games of series, beating UVa in 1975 at Scott Stadium, 37-0, and winning 6-3 at Archbold Stadium in 1977. Virginia has won the two most recent matchups. The Cavaliers defeated the Orange in Charlottesville in 2004 (31-0) and won again a year later at the Carrier Dome (27-24).
Syracuse is 3-1 overall and concludes non-conference play this Saturday on the road against USF. The 1-3 Cavaliers travel to Pittsburgh this weekend for an ACC Coastal Division matchup with the Panthers.
The Orange will return to the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Oct. 24 to host Pittsburgh during Orange Central/Homecoming Weekend. Tickets are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). In addition, discounted group tickets (20 or more) for all home games can be purchased by calling 315-443-3212.
