Orange, NC State Meet in ACC Tournament First Round

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 15/-- Syracuse will host an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament match for the second consecutive year when it welcomes North Carolina State to the SU Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The first-round contest begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the game are $8 for adults and $5 for ages 18 and under and 60 and older. Students from any ACC institution will be admitted free of charge with a valid school ID. Free live video of the match will be available on Cuse TV on Cuse.com.
ORANGE-WOLFPACK: ROUND TWO
Syracuse will host North Carolina State for the second time in less than two weeks. The teams met at the SU Soccer Stadium on Oct. 23. After neither team scored in the first half, the Wolfpack took a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. Syracuse tied the score on a goal by junior Ben Polk (Banbury, UK) in the 75th minute, and junior Louis Cross (Lancashire, England) recorded the game-winner off a header in the 85th minute to give the Orange a 2-1 victory.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE (10-5-2)
Syracuse earned the No. 7 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 3-4-1 mark in conference action. Junior Ben Polk (Banbury, UK) was the Orange's leading scorer in ACC play this season with nine points on a team-high four goals and one assist. Sophomore Julian Buescher (Duelmen, Germany) was right behind with eight points (3g, 2a), while redshirt junior Liam Callahan (Amherst, N.Y.) recorded all of his career-high six assists against conference opponents. Overall, Buescher leads the team with 21 points this season.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK (8-5-3)
North Carolina State posted a 1-4-3 ACC record and is the No. 10 seed in the tournament. Zach Knudson leads the Wolfpack offense with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Julius Duchscherer also has reached double figures in points with 12 (5g, 2a). Alex McCauley has started 16 of North Carolina State's 17 matches in goal this season and has a 1.44 goals-against average and a .625 save percentage.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with North Carolina State, 2-1-1. The Orange has won both meetings with the Wolfpack at the SU Soccer Stadium.

The winner of Wednesday's match advances to the ACC Tournament quarterfinals where it will take on second-seed North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sunday, Nov. 8.
