Orange Breaks Back Into Polls

The Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament Trophy earned by Syracuse last week impressed the national pollsters and the Orange broke back into the polls this week as a result.
Coach Jim Boeheim's club was ranked 14th in the Associated Press Poll and 19th in the USA Today Coaches Poll announced on Monday. It marked Syracuse's first appearance in the polls this season.
Syracuse captured the tough tourney by beating #18/21 Connecticut and #25/rv Texas A&M, along with Elon and Charlotte.
Graduate student guard Michael Gbinije was named most valuable player of the Battle 4 Atlantis. Classmate and guard Trevor Cooney joined Gbinije on the all-tournament team.
