12/15/2015 9:57:00 AM | Men's Lacrosse
Mullins, Donahue and Williams honored.
Syracuse redshirt seniors Brandon Mullins and Dylan Donahue, as well as junior Ben Williams were named to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All-American Second Team, in the magazine's face-off yearbook previewing the 2016 season.
Mullins, who was a USILA First Team All-American last season and a Tewaaraton Award Nominee, enters his senior campaign ranked fifth in program history in caused turnovers (45) and led the Orange in the category last season with 14.
An All-ACC selection both of his years in the league, Mullins enters the year with 32-straight starts on defense for the Orange. Mullins was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team last season after helping the Orange to its first ACC Championship in program history after joining the league prior to the 2014 season.
Donahue returns for his final season after posting one of the most impressive offensive seasons in Syracuse history, becoming just the seventh player in program history to net 50 goals, and the first to do so since Tom Marechek in 1991.
A USILA Third Team All-American and a Tewaaraton Award Nominee last season, Donahue enters 2016 with the nation's second-longest active goal-scoring streak.
Williams is the third returning Tewaaraton Award Nominee for the Orange this season. A USILA Second Team All-American in his first season at Syracuse last year, Williams was second in the nation and first in the ACC in faceoff win percentage, controlling over 67-percent of restarts.
The Mendota Heights, Minn. native was also the nation's leader in ground balls (153) last season, collecting the second-most in program history behind Sam Bassett's 164 in 2000.
All-three student-athletes were also named to the Preseason All-ACC team, which was selected by the league's five head coaches, on Monday. Syracuse was predicted to finish third in the ACC in the same poll.
