Four Earn Preseason All-America Honors

Inside Lacrosse ranked Syracuse No. 3 in its preseason top 25.
BALTIMORE, Md. – Seniors Kayla Treanor and Halle Majorana have been named first-team All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. In addition, senior Mallory Vehar was selected to the All-America Third Team, while junior Kaeli O'Connor was an Honorable Mention pick. The teams were released in Inside Lacrosse's annual Face-Off Yearbook.

Syracuse was picked No. 3 in the publication's preseason top 25. Defending national champion Maryland was picked No. 1, followed by last year's runner-up, North Carolina. Duke and Northwestern round out the top five. Five of the top 10 teams are from the ACC, while seven of the league's eight teams are ranked in to the top 16.

Treanor is a two-time finalist for the Tewaaraton Award and a three-time IWLCA All-America First Team selection. She tied for fifth in the nation in scoring last season with 91 points. Treanor earned her second straight IWLCA Attacker of the Year award and was the ACC Offensive Player of the Year. She currently ranks fourth on Syracuse's career record lists for points (303), goals (210) and assists (93).

Majorana was a member of the IWLCA All-America First Team in 2015 when she tied Treanor for fifth in the nation in scoring with a career-high 91 points. She also ranked 12th in assists (36) and 22nd goals (55). Majorana was voted to the All-ACC First Team as well as the league's All-Tournament Team. She recorded five or more points in 11 contests last season.

Vehar earned a spot on the All-Northeast Region First Team last season. She led the team in caused turnovers (27) and was second in ground balls (38). Both totals are career highs. Vehar anchored Syracuse's defense, which held seven of its opponents to less than 10 goals.

O'Connor started all 24 games on defense for the Orange last season. She finished second on the team in draw controls with 50. O'Connor also recorded 28 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.

Syracuse opens the 2016 season on Sunday, Feb. 14 when it takes on Loyola in the Carrier Dome at noon. The Greyhounds are ranked No. 12 in the preseason poll.
