SYRACUSE, N.Y. – As 2015 draws to a close, Cuse TV and Cuse.com are counting down the top 10 plays from this year's Orange football season. One play will be featured each day with the top play revealed on New Year's Eve.

Play No. 7 on our countdown is Ervin Philips' 32-yard touchdown catch against Rhode Island on Sept. 4.

THE SETUP:Â With Syracuse leading 7-0, starting quarterback Terrel Hunt goes down midway through the first quarter with a torn Achilles. Backup Eric Dungey enters the game and executes four running plays before attempting his first career pass on a third-and-10 from the Rhode Island 32.

THE PLAY:Â Dungey rolls right and throws back to Philips who juggles the ball before making the catch. Â Philips darts down the sideline then cuts back to the middle of the field and takes it in for the score.

THE AFTERMATH: The touchdown was SU's first offensive TD of the 2015 season and extended the Orange's lead over the Rams to 14-0 in a game it would go on to win 47-0. It was the first career touchdown reception for Philips and his first of two TD catches in the game. The sophomore finished 2015 with five touchdown receptions, second on the team behind Steve Ishmael (7).
