SYRACUSE, N.Y. – As 2015 draws to a close, Cuse TV and Cuse.com are counting down the top 10 plays from this year's Orange football season. One play will be featured each day with the top play revealed on New Year's Eve.

Play No. 5 on our countdown is Cole Murphy's game-winning field goal in the season finale against Boston College on Nov. 28.

THE SETUP: Boston College kicker Colton Lichtenberg hit a 43-yard field goal with 2:42 to play to tie the game at 17-all. On the game's final possession, quarterback Zack Mahoney moved the Orange 51 yards in nine plays down to the BC 18-yard line. After three timeouts, including two by the Eagles, Murphy lined up for the potential winning kick with three seconds left.

THE PLAY: Good snap. Good hold. The kick is good! Murphy splits the uprights from 35 yards out.

THE AFTERMATH: The 20-17 victory ended SU's eight-game losing streak and sent Scott Shafer out a winner in his final game as head coach. The field goal was Murphy's 16th of the year, tying him for fifth on SU's list for most field goals made in a season.
