
44th Annual Hardwood Club Banquet Honors Coach Hop!

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 44th annual Syracuse University Men's Basketball Hardwood Banquet, sponsored by TK99, will be held on Sunday, March 8 at the OnCenter in Syracuse. Tickets are $85 per person and $850 per table of 10.

Proceeds benefit the Conrad McRae Endowed Men's Basketball Scholarship and the men's basketball program.
Â
The Vic Hanson Medal of Excellence will be awarded former Syracuse University player and current assistant coach Mike Hopkins '93. The honor is given to an individual or individuals who have ties to the men's basketball program and have made outstanding contributions to college basketball.

Hopkins was a two-year starter and a team captain as a senior at Syracuse. He played on three NCAA Tournament teams and the 1992 BIG EAST Conference Tournament title squad with the Orange. Syracuse was a combined 94-32 during his time.

After playing professional in the Continental Basketball Association and in Turkey and Holland, Hopkins joined the Syracuse coaching staff in 1995. He was a member of the coaching staff which helped Syracuse win the 2003 NCAA Championship and reach the Final Four in 1996 and 2013. Hopkins has also coached in the USA Basketball program, most recently with the Senior Men's Team which won the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics.

The Hardwood Banquet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. with a reception that includes a silent auction featuring unique sports memorabilia, a player autograph session and an opportunity to bid on having players sit at your table. Dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m.
