
Track Opens Outdoor Slate

Orange Competes at Princeton, Auburn and Stanford
The Syracuse track team kicked off its outdoor campaign at a trio of events this weekend, with sprinters and jumpers taking on the Auburn Tiger Invitational and some of the distance runners attending the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton, while others traveled to the Stanford Invite.
Martin Hehir led 'Cuse at Stanford, placing second in the 10k, behind just Juan Luis Barrios of Nike. Hehir finished the event in 28:27.70. Hehir's time was a school-record and the fastest collegiate time thus far in the young outdoor season in the event.
Hehir bested a school-record that stood for nearly 33 years by 15 seconds.
Dan Lennon (28:46.21/17th) and Reed Kamyszek (28:49.53/19th) also competed in the event.
On the women's side, Margo Malone took eighth in the 10k (32.29.89), with Maura Linde right behind her (34:12.00) in 14th.
The men's 110-meter hurdles highlighted the Orange's meet at Auburn, where it put three in the top-10. Freddie Crittenden finished second in the event (13.85 seconds), followed by Donald Pollitt (sixth/14.23) and David Gilstrap (10th/14.69).
Freshman Sofia Mossberg's fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles highlighted the women's trip to Auburn. She completed the race in 13.81 seconds in her collegiate debut in the event. Danielle Delgado (19th/14.26) and Sa'De Lewis (23rd/14.31) also competed in the event.
Regine Hunter is another member of the Orange who turned in a top-10 performance, taking eighth in the triple jump, leaping to a distance of 12.28 meters. On the men's side, Pascal Bastien took 15th (13.74 meters). Bastien later took 14th in the long jump (6.70 meters) before Jabari Butler earned a seventh-place finish in the high jump.
Pollitt later upped his distance at the meet, competing in the 200-meters. He finished in 21.69 seconds, which was good for 16th.
At Princeton, the Orange were led by Paul Lovell, whose time of 1:54.43 in the 800-meter run was good for sixth place. Billy Cvecko finished 18th in the event (1:57.10).

Molly Malone also turned in one of 'Cuse's best performances, with an eighth-place finish in the 1500-meter run. Malone completed the race in 4:31.52

Kevyn Hoyos earned a 14th-place finish in the 5000-meters (14:48.38), while the women put three in the top-13 of the same event. Shaylyn Tuite (17:30.68) finished ninth, Rebecca Skodis (17:34.76) placed 10th, and Angelica Peck (17:51.10) finished in 13th.ac
The Orange will continue their spring slate at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational next Saturday.
