
Men's Rowing Ranks #19 in Final Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University men's rowing team's first varsity eight boat was ranked No. 19 nationally in the final USRowing Collegiate Poll of the 2015 season on Wednesday afternoon. Syracuse has been ranked in the top 20 of the national rankings in 80 straight poll releases.

Last weekend, the Orange competed in its conference championship, the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Men's Sprints. Syracuse placed 14th in the first varsity eight competition, the main event of the conference championship. The team did not qualify for one of the nine automatic bids to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta, but was able to earn an at-large bid.

The 113th Annual IRA Championship Regatta will begin on Friday, May 29 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The national championship will run until Sunday, May 31. In its history, Syracuse has won six titles in the varsity eight competition, the latest coming in 1978.
