
Orange Duo Competing at World Rowing Cup II

Gennaro '11 and Mastracci '13 racing in Italy
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former members of both the Syracuse University men's and women's rowing programs will compete at the 2015 World Rowing Cup II on Lake Varese in Varese, Italy beginning on Thursday. Mike Gennaro '11 and Natalie Mastracci '13 will compete for the United States and Canada, respectively.

The World Rowing Cup is an international competition comprised of three regattas held throughout the summer. In each event, points are awarded to the top-seven finishers and an overall winner is determined following the final regatta.

Gennaro is a part of the United States men's eight entry. The Haverton, Pa. native helped the Americans to a first-place finish in the eight competition at the 2014 World Rowing Cup II in Aiguebelette-le-Lac, France. At Syracuse, Gennaro helped the first varsity crew to a sixth-place finish at the 2010 IRA Championship Regatta, its highest finish since 1990.

Mastracci will hold a seat in the Canadian women's eight crew. The Thorold, Ontario product earned a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with the Canadian women's eight. As a member of the Orange, Mastracci was a four-time CRCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honoree and 2013 Pocock First Team All-American.
