Thompson and Trudo recognized by national magazines

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Ron Thompson and senior Rob Trudo have earned preseason All-ACC honors from national publications. Thompson was named to Phil Steele's Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team, and Trudo was picked to Lindy's Preseason All-ACC Third Team.

Thompson finished with 32 tackles in 12 games last season, including seven for a loss and three sacks.

Trudo started 11 games at guard in 2014 and blocked for four different 100-yard rushers. He is projected to start at center this fall.

Syracuse opens the 2015 season at home on Friday, Sept. 4 against Rhode Island. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome.
