
Syracuse Duo Place at World Rowing Cup II

Gennaro and Mastracci each earn top-three finishes
VARESE, Italy – Two alumni of the Syracuse University men's and women's rowing programs earned medals at the 2015 World Rowing Cup II on Lake Varese on Sunday. Mike Gennaro '11 and Natalie Mastracci '13 each recorded top-three finishes at the second World Rowing Cup regatta of 2015.

Gennaro helped the United States men's eight crew to a third-place showing on Sunday. It marked the second straight year Gennaro earned a medal at the World Rowing Cup II after a gold-medal finish in 2014. The Americans covered the 2,000-meter course in 5:29.380. Great Brittan would go on to win the race in 5:26.930, while Germany finished in second place, .35 seconds behind the winning boat.

Mastracci and the Canada women's eight boat finished in second place. The Canadians recorded a time of 6:05.530 in Sunday's final, less than three seconds behind the winning American crew.Â
