6/25/2015 10:15:00 PM | Men's Basketball
Chris McCullough became the 22nd Syracuse player to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft when he was picked 29th overall by the Brooklyn Nets. The draft was conducted June 25 at the Barclay Center.
McCullough was part of Syracuse's starting lineup in his freshman year and remained with the first five until a knee injury against Florida State cut short his rookie campaign. McCullough ultimately had knee surgery and decided to enter his name into the NBA Draft.
McCullough is the eighth first-round Syracuse pick since 2008. He is the seventh player from an ACC program to be selected in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft. The ACC led all conferences with the most players taken in the first round of the 2015 Draft.
A Syracuse player has been taken in the first round in seven of the last nine years. McCullough represents the eighth product of the Syracuse program taken in the first round since Donte Greene was picked in the first round in 2008.
Dave Bing was the first Syracuse performer to be selected in the first round. He was the second overall pick in 1966.
