Justyn Knight and Colin Bennie set to compete on Friday
Syracuse has a pair of runners competing in the Friday's men's 5,000-meters, one of three schools with multiple participants in the 24-person field.
Freshman Justyn Knight enters the meet seeded 8th after cruising to a time of 13:53.37 at the NCAA East Regional and was followed by redshirt-freshman Colin Bennie, who qualified in the 15th spot with a time of 13:58.68.
Only Oregon's four runners are more than Syracuse's two participants. Stanford also has a pair of student-athletes in the race.
Knight enters the meet as one of Syracuse's biggest threats to score after posting the sixth-fastest 5k time in the nation this season when he ran a 13:34.86 race at the Payton Jordan Invitational in May. His time broke the Syracuse and Canadian Junior records for the event.
Bennie's best race of the season came on the same track one month earlier, when he finished eighth at the Stanford Invitational by posting a career-best time of 13:53.93.
Bennie and Knight will take the track at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, with the race being broadcast on ESPN.
