Shafer Heads to ESPN Monday for 'Car Wash'

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head football coach Scott Shafer will appear on various ESPN media platforms Monday, July 27 when he participates in the network's mid-summer "Car Wash."

The "Car Wash" is an annual event in which coaches are invited to ESPN's Bristol, Conn. headquarters for a day of interviews and guest appearances. All 14 ACC coaches will visit the Worldwide Leader on either July 27 or 28.

Shafer will be joined on the ESPN campus Monday by fellow ACC coaches Dave Clawson (Wake Forest), Larry Fedora (North Carolina), Paul Johnson (Georgia Tech), Mike London (Virginia), Bobby Petrino (Louisville) and Dabo Swinney (Clemson).
Shafer will spend approximately four hours making the rounds at ESPN. His day begins with an appearance on Sportscenter Extras at 11:25 a.m. A mixture of interviews and appearances follows, including meetings with national college football reporters Joe Schad and Brett McMurphy. The Orange head coach wraps up his media tour with a live SportsCenter hit at 3:20 p.m.

Syracuse opens the 2015 season at home on Friday, Sept. 4 against Rhode Island. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. Season tickets and mini-packs are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). In addition, discounted group tickets (20 or more) for all home games can be purchased by calling 315-443-3212.
