
Orange in the NFL: Week 1

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Five former Syracuse Orange took the field during Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season. Defensive end Chandler Jones had the most noteworthy performance, helping defending Super Bowl champion New England to a 28-21 victory against Pittsburgh with three tackles on Sept. 10.
Here's a quick recap of the how Orange alums fared during the season's first week:

Jay Bromley, New York Giants
- Played at Dallas, but did not record any statistics in a 27-26 loss.
- Played in eight games for New York in 2014, recording five tackles (two solo).

Arthur Jones, Indianapolis Colts
- Placed on injury reserve on Sept. 5 and will miss the 2015 season.
- Last season, recorded 34 tackles, 1.0 sack, and a forced fumble.

Chandler Jones, New England Patriots
- Had three tackles (one solo) and 1.0 tackle for a 2-yard loss in New England's 28-21 win against Pittsburgh.
- Tallied 43 tackles, 6.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery for New England in 2014.
- Helped New England win Super Bowl XLIX in February.

Cameron Lynch, St. Louis Rams
- Made his pro debut in the team's season-opening 34-31 overtime victory against Seattle. Did not record any statistics.
- Signed as undrafted free agent with St. Louis in May.

Ryan Nassib, New York Giants
- Second-string quarterback behind 12-year veteran Eli Manning.
- Played in four games for New York in 2014.

Justin Pugh, New York Giants
- Started at left guard for New York in its 27-26 loss at Dallas.
- Has started all but two games for the Giants the past two years.

Shamarko Thomas, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Recorded one tackle in the team's season-opening 28-21 loss at New England.
- Played in 11 games for Pittsburgh in 2014, tallying five tackles and a forced fumble.
Syracuse continues its four-game Carrier Dome homestand against Central Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is set 12:30 p.m. The game will be presented by National Grid and air live on RSN.
Tickets are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). In addition, discounted group tickets (20 or more) can be purchased by calling 315-443-3212.
Saturday is also "Take-a-Kid-to-the-Game Day." All children 12-and-under will be admitted free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
