Men Take Second, Women Third at Harry Lang Invite

The No. 3 Syracuse men's cross country team took second, while the 17th-ranked women's team took third at Saturday's Harry Lang Invitational in Hamilton, N.Y. to open the 2015 season.
The men's race, which was a 6.4k was won by Navy with 27 points, while the Orange finished with 29.
Senior Juris Silenieks led the Orange with a second-place finish in a time of 20:10.0, while sophomore Shawn Wilson  (third/20:13.6), redshirt freshman Mickey Burke (fourth/20:15.8), redshirt freshman T.J. Hornberger (ninth/20:18.7) and senior Andrew Bennison (11th/20:21.0) rounded out the 'Cuse scoring.

Junior Kevyn Hoyos and senior Joseph Kush took 13th and 14th respectively as well for Syracuse.
Bucknell took the women's race with 52 points, with Albany in second just one point behind. Syracuse finished with 66 points, but also had the overall champion of the race in the form of graduate student transfer Cassia Hameline.
The New Hartford, N.Y. native won her inaugural race with the Orange in 17:17.0 at a distance of 4.8k. Sophomore Stephanie Bitcon took fourth (17:23.6), followed by junior Karina Ernst (eighth/17:39.4), Beth Wright (22nd/18:05.4) and senior Rebecca Skodis (45th/18:53.9) rounded out the women's scoring.

Next up, the Orange will head to the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational at Penn State on Friday.
