Dwight Freeney and Chandler Jones will play in conference championship games
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Three former Syracuse Orange football standouts participated in this past weekend's divisional round of the 2016 NFL playoffs. Dwight Freeney (Arizona Cardinals) and Chandler Jones (New England Patriots) each helped their teams advance to this weekend's conference championship games.
Freeney and Cardinals face the Carolina Panthers for the NFC championship on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 6:40 p.m. (ET), while Jones and Patriots challenge Denver for the AFC title at 3:05 p.m. (ET).

Dwight Freeney, Arizona Cardinals
- Recorded a sack in Arizona's playoff victory against Green Bay on Jan. 16.
- Signed with Arizona as a free agent on Oct. 13 and has 9.0 sacks on the year (8.0 in the regular season).

Chandler Jones, New England PatriotsÂ
- Made four tackles, including a sack, in New England's playoff win against Kansas City on Jan. 16.
- Finished the regular season ranked fifth in the NFL with 12.5 sacks. Has 13.5 total sacks this season.
- Named to the 2016 Pro Bowl roster.

Shamarko Thomas, Pittsburgh SteelersÂ
- Recorded one tackle in Pittsburgh's playoff loss at Denver on Jan. 17.
- Played in 15 games during the regular season and notched 12 tackles. Finished the year with 13 total tackles.
