After posting the nation's best time to date in the 60-meter hurdles at the Ramapo Opener, Syracuse junior hurdler Freddie Crittenden III earned ACC Men's Track co-Performer of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Crittenden, who earned All-America honors in the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship last season, won the event during his season debut at the Armory in New York City on Friday in a time of 7.71 seconds. He beat out 'Cuse alums Donald Pollitt and Ramon Sosa, who took second and third respectively, and teammates David Gilstrap (fourth), Richard Floyd (fifth) and Chevis Armstead (sixth) as Syracuse and its alums swept the top-six places.
His time bested his previous career best by 0.10 seconds.
Following last year's NCAA Championship, Crittenden turned in a stellar performance at the USATF Championships, taking 10th overall in the 110-meter hurdles, which was the top performance by any collegiate athlete.
Crittenden shared the honor with Georgia Tech's Jeremy Greenwald, who ran the nation's second-fastest time in the 3000-meters at the Vanderbilt Commodore Invitational this weekend.
Syracuse returns to the track on Saturday at the Cornell Upstate Invitational.Â
