Arizona and New England fall in title games
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Two former Syracuse Orange football standouts participated in Sunday's NFL conference championship games. Both Dwight Freeney (Arizona Cardinals) and Chandler Jones (New England Patriots) saw their respective team's season come to an end on Jan. 24.

Dwight Freeney, Arizona Cardinals
- Played, but did not record any statistics in Arizona's loss at Carolina in the NFC title game.
- Signed with Arizona as a free agent on Oct. 13 and has 9.0 sacks on the year (8.0 in the regular season).

Chandler Jones, New England PatriotsÂ
- Made one tackle in New England's last-second loss at Denver in the AFC championship game.
- Finished the regular season ranked fifth in the NFL with 12.5 sacks. Had 13.5 total sacks this season.
- Named to the 2016 Pro Bowl roster.
