Dixon to Participate in 2016 NFL Combine

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Orange punter Riley Dixon has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine set for Feb. 23-29 in Indianapolis, Ind.

One of the 10 semifinalists for the 2015 Ray Guy Award, Dixon earned All-ACC honors from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Assocation (ACSMA) and from the conference's head coaches this past season. He averaged 43.7 yards per punt and placed 43 percent (28-65) of his punts inside the 20-yard line with only five touchbacks. In addition, 18 of his punts traveled more than 50 yards, including a long of 64 yards against Rhode Island.
Dixon finished his Orange career tied for third with Brendan Carney on the program's all-time record list for punting average (42.6) and fifth in most punting yards (9,291) and number of punts (218). In 2013 against Clemson, Dixon set the school record with a 75-yard punt.

In addition to attending this year's combine, Dixon is scheduled to participate in the annual East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 23 in Tampa, Fla. and the 2016 Reese's Senior Bowl on Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala.
