SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse linebacker Zaire Franklin is joined by a different member of the Orange football team in the Cuse TV weekly feature, Z60. In the sixth installment, Franklin's guest is junior wide receiver Ervin Philips.Â
Philips was on the receiving end of the Orange's first touchdown in Syracuse's 31-17 win against Virginia Tech on Saturday. Quarterback Eric Dungey connected with Philips for the 58-yard score, and he had a career-high 139 yards on 11 catches against the Hokies. Philips currently ranks third in the ACC with an average of 7.6 receptions per game and has has caught 53 passes for 496 yards this season. Philips has scored 12 touchdowns in his Syracuse career, the most on the team.
Franklin, Philips and the rest of the Orange are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Boston College. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC Network with Tom Werme (play-by-play), Dave Archer (analyst) and Roddy White (sideline) on the call.Â
