‘Cuse to face NC State, #8 North Carolina
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After splitting a fourth-consecutive ACC weekend, the Orange look to finish out the four-game road stand at NC State and #8 North Carolina this weekend.
Syracuse (5-13, 4-4 ACC) will travel first to Raleigh, N.C., on Friday to play NC State (11-9, 4-4 ACC) at 6 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, and live stats will be available online.
The Orange will then head to Chapel Hill, N.C., where they look to challenge #8 North Carolina (16-2, 8-0 ACC) to its first conference loss at 1 p.m. in Carmichael Arena. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU/WatchESPN and live stats will be available online.
Friday's game marks the second meeting this season between 'Cuse and the Wolfpack, as the Orange fell in three straight sets back in September (15-25, 18-25, 20-25). The match will be the tenth all-time series meeting between both teams.
NC State leads the series, 7-2. Both teams are looking for their fifth ACC win of the season.
The first and final matchup of the season between UNC and Syracuse, the Tar Heels are looking to continue their undefeated ACC record, coming off two road wins against Notre Dame and Louisville. UNC served the Fighting Irish their first conference loss of the year in a five-set battle in South Bend, Ind.
The last meeting between the Tar Heels and the Orange was in 2015 at the Women's Building, where UNC took the match in four sets (19-25, 25-18, 24-26, 21-25).
