
Lamison, Alseth named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Student-athletes Emma Lamison of the field hockey team and Oyvind Alseth of the Syracuse men's soccer team are this week's Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Lamison and the field hockey team host Duke for a conference showdown at J.S. Coyne Stadium this Friday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. Admission to the game is free of charge. The Orange field hockey team then travels to Ithaca for a non-conference matchup with Cornell on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
Alseth and the men's soccer team travel for a pair of road games this week. The Orange take on Albany in a 7 p.m. non-conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 4 before traveling to ACC foe Louisville for a 7 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 7.
Lamison is a biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences. The senior was an NFHCA All-Academic team member and ACC All-Academic team selection in 2015. Throughout her freshman and sophomore campaigns at Northeastern, Lamison was a 2014 All-CAA Academic team selection.
A native of Liverpool, N.Y., Lamison played in all 22 games for the Orange last season while starting 15. She ranked fourth among 'Cuse players with nine goals and four assists, totaling 22 points. Lamison scored the game-winning goal for the Orange in the NCAA national championship victory over North Carolina last season.
This year, Lamison has started nine of Syracuse's 11 contests, tallying five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. Lamison was selected to the Young Women's National championship by USA Field Hockey this past summer.
Alseth is a finance major in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. The senior is a six-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll member and a 2014 and 2015 ACC All-Academic team selection. Alseth is also a 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and a three-time ACC Honor Roll member.
The Trondheim, Norway native is a four-year starter, taking the field as such in 71-of-72 games throughout his collegiate career at Syracuse. This season, Alseth tallied one goal in Syracuse's 2-0 win over NC State. The midfielder has also contributed four assists in four separate games.
Alseth is a two-year team captain for the Orange.
