Orange Slated 19th in AP Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. –The Syracuse men's basketball team has been ranked 19th in the Associated Press preseason poll, announced Monday by the AP.
Syracuse joins four other Atlantic Coast Conference schools in the 25-team poll. Duke leads the way in the top-ranked spot, followed by sixth-ranked North Carolina, No. 8 Virginia and Louisville checking in at 13th.
The Orange are ranked 17th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll. Duke is ranked at the top, followed by North Carolina (6), Virginia (7) and Louisville (14).
Syracuse will face 14 teams this season that are either ranked or have received votes from the AP and USA Today preseason polls. A list of teams and rankings can be found below.
The Orange begin the 2016-17 campaign at home with an exhibition game against Indiana University (Pa.) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Following a second exhibition matchup with Le Moyne on Nov. 8, 'Cuse will begin the regular season against Colgate on Nov. 11 in the Dome.
