Florida State is SU's fourth nationally-ranked opponent
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse football team concludes its home slate on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Atlantic Coast Conference foe Florida State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN2.
Â
Syracuse is coming off a 35-20 defeat against NC State on Nov. 12. Junior linebacker Parris Bennett eclipsed the century mark for tackles on the 2016 season, becoming the first Orange player to do so since 2010 and only the second in the past 10 years. Receiver Amba Etta-Tawo added to his Orange season record totals with four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. He is currently 10th on the ACC single-season ledge for receiving yardage (1,246).
Â
"The NC State game was a fabulous game," head coach Dino Babers said in his weekly news conference on Monday morning. "We really felt like we had opportunities to win the game. It did not go our way, obviously."
Â
Syracuse will take on a nationally-ranked opponent for the fourth time this season when it faces the 17th-ranked Seminoles. Florida State is led by junior running back Dalvin Cook, who ranks seventh in the country with 1,242 rushing yards. The Seminoles are 7-3 overall and have won four of their last five.
Â
"We are still excited about our two opportunities that we have left to finish this season on a high note," Babers said. "We are looking forward to playing Florida State, an excellent football team. It's going to be a very tough task, but we are looking forward to our opportunity."
Â
Saturday marks the final game in the Carrier Dome for the 2016 squad. Before kickoff, 18 players and three managers will be recognized for their contributions to the program prior in a Senior Day ceremony. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a Floyd Little mini-bobblehead, courtesy of CNY Chevy Dealers.
Â
Tickets are available for Saturday's contest online, by phone (888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).Â
