Robinson Named Semifinalist for MAC Hermann Trophy

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Syracuse sophomore defender Miles Robinson is one of 15 semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy, the highest individual award in collegiate soccer. The list of semifinalists was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

It marks the third consecutive year that Syracuse has had a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy, which has been awarded to the national player of the year every season since 1967. Also Bono was a finalist for the award in 2014, while Julian Buescher was a semifinalist in 2015.

Robinson, who is just one of two sophomores on the list of semifinalists, is the 2016 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-ACC First Team selection this season. He helped the Orange record 10 shutouts this season. In addition, Robinson ranked fifth on the team in points (9) and tied for third in goals (4). He missed two matches while playing for the U.S. U-20 Men's National Soccer Team at the 2016 Four Nations Tournament.

Three finalists will be named on December 14 at the conclusion of voting by the NCAA Division I soccer coaches. The 2016 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on January 6, 2017 to formally announce this year's winner.
