Three Orange Earn All-ACC Honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse sophomore Miles Robinson has been voted the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. Robinson was also selected to the All-ACC First Team as was senior Chris Nanco. In addition, freshman Mo Adams earned All-ACC Third Team honors and a spot on the league's All-Freshman Team.
Â
Robinson has led Syracuse's defensive unit that has recorded 10 shutouts this season and a 0.57 goals-against average, which ranks seventh in the nation. He also has a career-high four goals and an assist for a career-best nine points. He missed two matches when he was called up to the U.S. Under-20 squad. Robinson is the second member of the Orange to earn the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award in the last three years, joining Alex Bono in 2014.
Â
Nanco is Syracuse's leading scorer this season with 13 points and six goals, both of which are career highs. He registered his third career multiple-goal game against Pittsburgh in the opening round of the ACC Tournament. His two first-half goals sparked the Orange to a 4-0 victory.
Â
Adams has started all 17 matches in which he's played in the central midfield. He scored his first career goal in Syracuse's 2-0 victory at Hartford. The Orange has now had at last one selection to the ACC All-Freshman Team since joining the league prior to the 2014 season.
Â
Syracuse moved up to No. 6 in this week's NSCAA rankings. The Orange are 11-3-4 overall and will learn their NCAA Tournament fate when the pairings are announced on Monday, November 14.
