
Degnan, Reichard Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Serra Degnan of the field hockey team and Andrew Reichard of the men's rowing team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Degnan is a senior majoring in health and exercise science in the School of Education. She was a 2015 National Field Hockey Coaches Association and Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic Team member.
A native of Wyoming, Pa., Degnan and the field hockey team finished the season with a 15-4 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Degnan tallied four goals and three assists for a career-high 11 points. Degnan served as a team captain for the 2016 campaign.
Reichard is a senior majoring in biochemistry and minoring in exercise science in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is an active member of the Syracuse University Catholic Center and serves as a Eucharistic Minister.
A native of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Reichard is a team captain this season. He was accepted into the Health Professions Scholarship Program with the United States Naval Academy for medical school following his graduation from Syracuse University.
The Orange men's rowing team will begin the 2017 spring slate on Saturday, April 8. Syracuse will take on Wisconsin in Skokie, Illinois.
