
Olson Hired as Operations and Recruiting Assistant

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A former Syracuse football intern, Jake Olson has been named the Orange's operations and recruiting assistant, head coach Dino Babers announced on Friday, Dec. 9.
Olson will assist Director of Operations Brad Wittke in the management of team logistics, including helping organize the daily schedules of student-athletes, coaches, and staff. In addition, Olson he will perform various administrative duties for the recruiting department.
The younger brother of SU defensive graduate assistant Ben Olson, Jake spent the summer of 2016 as an operations intern for the Orange. He helped coordinate camp travel for coaches and assisted in organizing Syracuse's summer camp series.
After completing his internship, Olson went to work as the football operations assistant at Yale for the 2016 season. In that role, Olson coordinated team meals and equipment transportation for Bulldog road games. He also served as a liaison between parents, alumni and the football program. Following the season, Olson organized the year-end banquet, an event that included more than 300 guests.
A Morris, Ill. native, Olson attended Eastern Illinois University. He graduated from the school in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and sports studies, and a minor in business administration.
