Football Releases 2016 Spring Schedule

Orange opens spring practice Feb. 23
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange fans are invited to get their first up-close look at the 2016 Syracuse University football team at the program's annual spring game on Saturday, April 2. Start time is 11 a.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission is free and open to the public.

The yearly scrimmage is the culmination of the Orange's spring practice season. In addition to the spring game, first-year head coach Dino Babers will hold 14 practices over a span of six weeks beginning on Feb. 23.

Babers was named the 30th head coach in program history on Dec. 5, 2015. He owns a 37-16 (.698) career record in four years as a college head coach, including an 18-9 mark the last two seasons at Bowling Green.

Babers' inaugural Orange squad returns 19 starters from the 2015, including leading passer Eric Dungey, leading rusher Jordan Fredericks, leading receiver Steve Ishmael and top tackler Zaire Franklin.

The Orange's 2016 schedule features six home games, including four against ACC competition. Season ticket deposits are now being accepted online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (1-888-DOMETIX). Fans are invited to place a $75 deposit for new season tickets and they will be eligible to select their seat location(s) prior to season tickets going on sale to the general public.
