
Orange Open ACC Play At Home Saturday, Sunday

SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Â The No. 62 Syracuse women's tennis team will host No. 48 Boston College and No. 9 Virginia this weekend at Drumlins Country Club to open up Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Orange begin the weekend on Saturday at 11 a.m. against the Eagles and will then take on the Cavaliers on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Syracuse (6-0) seeks their best start to a regular season since 2009 when the squad started out 7-0. The Orange will be battle tested with top-50 matchups against Boston College (4-3) and Virginia (4-3).
So far this season, freshmen Dina Hegab and Gabriella Knutson have impressed. Both freshman have a perfect 5-0 record in singles play. Graduate student No. 43 Anna Shkudun is 5-1 in singles play while junior Valeria Salazar is 4-1.
Admission to the weekend matches at Drumlins are free and free pizza will also be available for fans.
