Orange Up to No. 3 in USILA Poll

Following its win over Army West Point on Sunday, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team (3-0) now ranks third in both the USILA/NIKE Coaches Poll and the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
The Orange was ranked fourth in the USILA poll and third in the media poll last week.
'Cuse moved ahead of Duke with its win in the USILA poll, with Denver still occupying the top spot. The Pioneers received 488 points (11 first-place votes) this week, with Notre Dame right on their heels with 446 points and 12 first-place votes. The Orange received 391 points, two ahead of Duke with Loyola moving up a spot to fifth this week, rounding out the top-five.
Virginia, Syracuse's opponent this week, ranks 17th in the coaches poll and 14th in the media poll.
The media poll has the same teams in its top-five, with Notre Dame occupying the top-spot ahead of Denver. Duke and Loyola sit behind the Orange in fourth and fifth respectively.
'Cuse and the Cavaliers will get action underway on Friday at 5:30 p.m., with the game being broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
