Syracuse head coach Chris Fox continued to rack up accolades on Friday, when he was named ACC Men's Indoor Track Coach of the Year.
The USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year for Cross Country and USTFCCCA Northeast Region Coach of the year for both cross country and indoor track, Fox led Syracuse to its first team ACC indoor championship and first conference title in indoor track since 1992 this season.
Fox's squad had a program-best six student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this season, including a record four earn USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors, including two top-three finishers (Justyn Knight and Freddie Crittenden III).
The 11th year head coach has built the program with an emphasis on distance events, coupled with assistant coach Dave Hegland's expertise in the hurdles, to build the Orange into one of the best programs in the ACC on the track after dominating the ACC in cross country since entering the conference.
Fox's crew has continued to make history, with the Orange winning the first National Championship in over 60 years this season and having a record four student-athletes earn All-America accolades. Syracuse has also set program records in each of the last-two outdoor seasons for the most NCAA qualifiers.
