Syracuse Moves to Fifth in Polls

The Syracuse men's lacrosse team dropped two spots in both the USILA/NIKE Coaches Poll and the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll following Saturday's overtime loss at Johns Hopkins.
The Orange collected 328 points in the USILA poll, 40 behind fourth-ranked Brown. Denver once again remained the unanimous No. 1, with 440 points and all-22 first place votes. The Pioneers are followed by Syracuse's next home opponent Notre Dame, who the Orange will welcome to the Carrier Dome on April 2. The Fighting Irish received 414 points in the poll this week. Yale moved up one spot to No. 3 with 395 points.
Johns Hopkins remained eighth after beating SU in overtime, while upcoming opponent Duke moved to No. 9, setting up the second-straight top-10 matchup on the road this week for Syracuse. North Carolina sits in 13th, while Virginia is receiving votes to round out ACC representation in the poll.
The media poll features the same top-five, with Syracuse 62 points behind Brown in that poll.
Syracuse and Duke will meet at Noon on Saturday, with the game slated to be broadcast on ESPNU.
