Alexander and Butler Meet in WNBA Preseason

Former teammates meet in WNBA preseason contest
SAN ANTONIO – Former Syracuse University women's basketball teammates Kayla Alexander and Brianna Butler met on the court on Monday night in WNBA preseason action. Butler and the Los Angeles Sparks defeated Alexander and the San Antonio Stars, 77-70.
Alexander rejoined the Stars for her first preseason contest of the 2016 season after leading Spartak Moscow to a fourth-place showing in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League. The Milton, Ontario native notched 15 points, a team-best nine rebounds, and one blocked shot in 16 minutes played.
In her second preseason game of her professional career, Butler played 12 minutes at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The King of Prussia, Pa. product pulled down three rebounds in the victory for the Sparks.
Alexander and San Antonio open their regular season on Saturday night when they host the Atlanta Dream at 8:00 p.m. EST. Butler and Los Angeles wrap up their preseason slate against Atlanta on the campus of Georgia Tech on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. EST.
