
Florida DB James Pierre Signs with Orange

Three-star safety was tabbed one of the top 25 players in Broward County
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University football team added another member to its incoming class on Friday, May 20.

Defensive back James Pierre has signed with the Orange and is expected to join the program for the upcoming season. Pierre is the fifth defensive back, and the seventh Class of 2016 prospect from Florida, to sign with Syracuse. He is rated three stars and the No. 48 safety in this year's class by 247Sports.com. He also received a three-star rating from Scout.com and Rivals.com.

A standout at Deerfield Beach High School, Pierre led the Bucks to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the 8A state regional semifinals as a senior. He was recognized as one of the top 25 players in Broward County and received 2015 Sun Sentinel All-County Honorable Mention laurels after recording 48 tackles, four interceptions and two pass breakups. Pierre also returned four punts for 79 yards and a touchdown in his final scholastic season.

The Orange report for preseason camp in August. The 2016 season opener is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 2 against Colgate in the Carrier Dome. Â Â
Season tickets for Syracuse football are on sale now online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Tickets start at $99 ($16.50 per game) with lower-level seats in the end zones available for as little as $125.

Single-game tickets for all home games except Florida State go on sale June 21. Tickets to watch the Orange and Seminoles are tentatively scheduled to go on sale July 26. Tickets start at $20 for non-conference games, $25 for the Louisville and NC State games, and $30 for the Virginia Tech and Florida State contests.
